Oil on canvas
As a child, I would always stare at Japanese masks for their uniqueness, trying to understand how they would even imagine creating these traditional masks. I decided I wanted to try and recreate an original Japanese concept. This type of mask is called "Ko-omote" which is a Noh mask representing a young and beautiful woman. This mask embodies the essence of youthful feminine beauty.
I worked hard on this piece to create that ominous shine.
Can the mask keep her identity hidden any longer?
